Pelvic floor Dysfunction is it or isn't it..

Hi all,

I am 9 months post Prostate removal I'm seem to be getting the symptoms of PFD ie stinging/burning discomfort for a short while in the pelvic area after urinating, this has been going on since the op. I've been told by different members of the medical team that it's 1. Nerve damage, 2. Where the urethra was stretched during surgery, 3. The Perineum, 4. The sphincter so don't know what it is. If I do pelvic floor excercises it makes it worse. I have had 2 urine tests previously which have ruled out a bladder infection. I have an appointment with the Pelvic floor physio but there's a backlog due to covid so don't know when that will happen.

Any ideas please......

That could well be caused by a UTI. Have you visited your GP?

Best wishes,

Chris

Hi Chris, yeah I have an appointment for a urine test tomorrow (Wed) but I'm 9 months post prostate surgery and it's been going on since I had the catheter taken out and I've had urine test previously which came back as normal.

Regards

Ray
