Moving to Arbiraterone

Hi all, I’m coming up to 4 years since diagnosis. I’m on Zoladex an d have been taking bicalutamide for 12 months. My PSA is creeping up and is at 12.8 currently and my onco is advising moving to Arbiraterone. I’m currently of the view that oncology know enter than me, but if anyone has any history changing over, I’d be interested to hear.

Many oncos would suggest a pause between stopping the bical and starting the abiraterone - for a significant % of men, the PSA drops due to anti-androgen withdrawal (AAWR - if the cancer is feeding off the bical, stopping the bical starves the cancer again) and this is sometimes sustained for many months before the PSA starts to rise again.
