Fatigue worry

Hi I haven't posted for a while. My husband seems to be sleeping an awful lot, getting up at 9 then going back to sleep from 930 till 11 and then going back to sleep at 3 til I wake him again. This has got worse over the last couple of weeks. Any advice accepted.... Do I keep waking him or do I let him sleep? He has stage 4

Thanks xx

What treatment is he on?

Not knowing the full history so it's hard to comment but if it is physical then you probably need medical advice - if it is psychological then supporting him and creating activities to get him interested would be worth trying. Negative reactions would not be helpful but you probably know that :)

He has had chemo and radiotherapy and is on hormone injections. I try to let him sleep but worry that he is sleeping his life away X I know that makes me sound selfish but we haven't had a review since the end of either his chemo or radiotherapy so I worry it's a sign of it spreading x do I just leave him to sleep?

Definitely needs looking at IMHO and explaining.

I would be concerned he was anemic, reacting to medicines or other treatments he has had.

Yes, definitely try and get an appointment.

I don't imagine it's a sign of any spread - it sounds like it has more to do with the after effects of the treatment and maybe if he feels like crap, then sleeping is a way of alleviating that feeling. However, if he can get a prescription for something to help him feel better then maybe he can start to break the cycle.

Are you able to have a positive conversation with him as to how he is feeling both physically and mentally - I know it's difficult to do without the emotions getting in the way - but try and it will help you prepare for the conversation with the specialists.

Good luck - I know it's a difficult road we tread and sometimes we forget just how hard it is on our partners. x
