Abnormality found on DFE

Was diagnosed with low grade pca in 2016 ( 3+3) and have been on active surveillance since.

have had bladder neck incision surgery 2 year ago after been catheterised on two occasions ( unable to pee).

psa varies from 1.8 to 11 over 6 years

consultant just done a DRE and found a suspicious abnormality ( biopsy done same week) and now awaiting results.

cannot have a mri due to clips in head.

my question is why have urgent biopsy if psa is low at moment?

PSA is only one factor considered, because it's not a reliable indication of prostate cancer by itself. DRE, MRI, family history, race, etc are all other factors taken in to consideration, because they all impact your risk.
