PSMA PET Scan - should I be worried

Hello

I would appreciate any thoughts other members might have on my situation.

Initially I was diagnosed in November 2021 with a Gleason score of 7.

I had low dose brachytherapy in Jan 2022. While my PSA initially reduced it has been rising as below  Initially the oncology nurse talked about a PSA bounce which I understand. With the level now at 9.1 the consultant has asked for a PSMA PET Scan - this is scheduled for Monday 8th April.

I am very concerned as to what is happening- is the cancer recurring , has it spread etc.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Many thanks

Brian

July 2022 PSA reduced to 2.5

February 2023 PSA  2.8

July 2023  PSA 5.2

December 2023 PSA  5.5

March 2024 PSA 9.1

The rises are clearly of concern. Sometimes there is an increase after your period of HT has ended but this progressive increase is worrying. Best to await the result of PSMA scan rather than speculate I think.
