Post Robotic Prostatectomy Pain/Leg weakness

Hi All,

New to this site and appreciate it being here for me to follow and join..  I had successful a successful prostatectomy 1 and 1/2 months ago and now have lots of pain in my groin and extreme weakness in left leg.

It is hard to lift it up when laying down or sitting and it "lags" catching up to right leg with sudden lateral movement.

I see Dr.  In 2 weeks and will ask but thought I woukd check with community and see if others had same issue...I believe they took lymph nodes out of both groins but only left bothering me.

Thanks again in advance for any thoughts.

If your leg is swollen it could be Lymphoedema. It might be worth taking some girth measurement of both legs to see if there is any difference.  It is certainly worth getting it checked out.

Are you doing regular short walks around the house - sitting still for too long is bad for you and you need to do short around the house walks every 20 minutes or so. Thrombosis is also possible hence they might have given you compression stockings but as Chris said, get it checked out.

Hi mate and welcome. The same thing happened to me.....I had done everything right, small walks to slightly longer walks and then more walking. All seemed to be going fine until my better half and I decided to walk to the beach (about ten minutes from the front door at post-op speed). Once we got there the pain in my groin and the lack of responsiveness from my left leg just happened. I ended up sitting at a cafe table kind of writhing in pain and scaring the tourists while my better half went to get the car to drive me home. Lying on the sofa afterwards at home I could not raise my left leg at all and the pain was horrendous.

To cut the story short this happened two or three times. The GP prescribed Tramadol. The lovely urology specialist nurses had me checked over in the hospital. It eventually kind of just ebbed away and I am none the wiser why it happened. But my heart goes out to you mate it was agonisingly painful and terrifying. I hope yours just comes to a natural stop as well.
