I don’t understand this reliance on PSA. My husband s was very low but the cancer spread to the liver and he died
User
Posted 01 Jan 2026 at 18:21
Jimthecobowner, for the majority of Prostate cancers PSA is directly proportional to the amount of active tumour, so the lower it goes following treatment the better.

Unfortunately some Prostate cancers produce very little or no PSA, it sounds like your husband was unfortunately one of those types. Condolences on your loss.

Hi Guys....update time

After consultation, bloodtests and imaging earlier this week,PSA is down again to 16 cholesterol down and stable but remain on statins,QOL life good.

On the down side after mentioning mark on head was told bluntly by consultant that it was skin cancer! But my local GP begs to differ and have been given antibiotic cream and an appointment for next week at a local health Centre for further investigations.

Will update on skin cancer investigation and imaging results in the next few weeks.

All the best everyone and stay strong 💪

Great news Phil! There was something in the news about a new drug that is working wonders for men with advanced PC. Things are looking more optimistic thankfully. Hope the skin lesion is nothing to worry about.
Good luck!

Ditto from me! Really glad to read these news. It's so great that the incredible enthusiasm for HLD-0915 seems to apply to you. I was reading more about this new type of medicine. Really hope it works as they plan and truly kills off the recurrent/lingering/mutant PC. Big hopes with you. Long may it continue! And good luck with the patch on your skin. My fingers are crossed for you on that also.

Hi all

Update time again.

Started cycle 8 of Halda 0915 phase 1/2 Clinical trial yesterday.

Results from imaging good with no progression and reduction again in tumours,PSA down to 15 only down slightly this time but still good,QOL still ok but with slight back ache which I'll suck up.

Skin cancer to head was skin cancer but not bienin so had cryotheorpy on several marks on my bald head which made my eyes water but healing well.

I'll keep taking the tablets and live consultation to consultation, stay strong 💪 all and keep fighting the fight.

Regards Phil

Hi,  Good luck with the trial, I admire your fortitude. Looking up the trial it's beyond me and so is the summary.    The full description is linked here if anyone wants to look.  https://haldatx.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/AACR-Triple-Meeting-Halda-Presentation-24OCT2025-1.pdf

I've had 16yrs of various sun damage treatments on my scalp.   I went privately in November and was given cryotherapy. He said keep it covered in vaseline, don't puncture the blister.  It was great advice and healed very quickly without sign.   Although if it made your eyes water he might have given you a bigger blast.

All the best, Peter

Dear Phil, So pleased that the trial goes well! Really excellent news! I have been following this trial (and others) but don't know when the next update will be. The first data release was outstanding and led to the small biotech that made it being purchased for 4 billion dollars. I hope that is a good sign. The drug works in a completely novel way. Wishing for the best.

And good luck with your scalp. I've been worrying about some spots on my husband. Must get those checked. Sorry this was eye-watering but hope for good healing. I've just had a friend go through it and in a week (and definitely by 2) it was much improved.

Hi Phil

What a gift this trial is, the God's are shining down on you I think and I'm so pleased for you.

You could look upon the skin stuff as a distraction!

As always, I'm rooting for you.
