Zoladex injection

Hi I was just wondering if anyone has experienced the Zoladex injection coming out from the injection site and whether this is a cause for concern?

If the pellet has came out it is a problem. Keep the pellet and go back to your GP to find out what has gone wrong.

I was on zoladex for two years. That was 9 injections. After each injection a small cotton wool dressing was applied which had a tiny bit of blood on it, and nothing else. The injection is made at an angle of about 45degrees to the skin, with the intention of leaving the pellet in fat tissue about 1cm under the skin.

Thanks for your reply Dave the pellet has not completely come out but I can see and feel a little bit on the surface of my injection site.

I cannot conceive how a pellet could come out unless the needle was inserted nowhere near far enough.

The pellets are visible on ultrasound (just in case one needs removing), so if necessary they can tell if what you are feeling is the pellet. If you have negligible subcutaneous fat, it can be difficult (that's where it should end up) but that is usually only for the first jab, as Zoladex gives you subcutaneous fat.

(I used to do my own Zoladex injections, because it got too difficult to get them done during COVID, and it was so much easier than fighting to get an appointment on the right day.)
