Cribiform

How many of you have cribiform pattern in your biopsy and how did it affect your treatment decision.  I have a 3+4, 3+4, and 3+3 with 8 of 12 positive (all on one side).  Gleason 4 was 15% in one and 5% in the other with some cribiform found in the Gleason 4.  So it's not a super heavy load of cribiform. Also PSMA was negative for metastases.

How did cribiform affect your plans.  (in addition to ruling out AS).How did it affect the timeline for you?

Hello mate.

Here's a thread discussing cribriform. It may help you.

Hi, As with many things you can only give your own experience. I asked my oncologist on my last appointment in march about my cribiform pattern and whether he was just trying to allay my fears said if I was to give a score out of 100 the Gleason 9 would be 90 and the cribiform would add 1-2. But with lower scores I don’t know if it would add more significance or not. Again the Gleason 9 and t3a were bigger drivers in the treatment (ht+hdrBT+EBRT).

Wish you well

I had cribriform pattern (stage T3a). Before deciding on treatment I met with both a surgeon and a radiologist. I asked both specifically about the impact of having cribriform pattern and neither was particularly concerned about it. I liked the surgeon's answer best: "I'm removing it anyway so I don't care what it is". I ended up having surgery 8 months ago. So far, so good.
