My long time partner had a RP IN July 2020 he has suffered with ED ever since we have tried  medication but suffered with really bad back and leg pain so really couldn’t take anymore.  Has anyone got any advice regarding other means for example pumps, as it is starting to really make him feel low

thank you

S&J, It would be useful to know what level of nerve sparring he had, what medication has he tried. Does his hospital have an ED clinic or nurse.

Thanks Chris

If you can find it on this site with its tragic search system , look for a post called “ erecting the erection-medication “ by the user Jonny. It is a long and extremely useful thread that we have all inputted to regarding getting that erection back. As said above it’s best if you give more detail so we can help. For instance I take low dose Tadalafil but at bed-time 5mg. It reduces pains etc and works its magic without a big hit all at once. Don’t fear we may be able to help !!

Thank you so much, he was told to take 10mg  x weekly he kept getting mixed advice from GP/Urologist so to be honest we gave up especially as he had really bad pains in legs it was Tadalafil 10mg  he was prescribed 30 minutes before sexual intercourse ! He could hardly walk.  I know it’s really getting him down and is losing hope about ever having any degree of normality ?

Hi I had RP back in April 2022 and was prescribed Tadalafil 5mg daily and have been on them since. I was not told anything about my surgery after so don’t know if I had  any type of nerve sparring or what damage I was left with. I also thought that the Tadalafil was for ED again wasn’t told why I needed them but recently I have noticed on the medication box it states one a day as prescribed by the specialist after TWOC ( Trial without catheter) have you any helpful information and suggestions for help with my ED

S&J, muscle pain is a possible side effect of Tadalafil. There are 3 other PDE5 inhibitors he can try instead, none of which have this side effect as far as I know, Sildenafil, Vardenafil, Avanafil. Tadalafil is the preferred one in conjunction with prostate cancer treatments, but if the side effects are unacceptable, then try the others.

We were in a similar position 12 years ago. We decided to opt for VEDs with great success. Have a read of my posts here under ‘Re-establishing Sex Life’. Good luck.

Hi its the main thing that i found is never spoken about. Yes its one of the easiest cancers to deal with. People need to be told the aftermath physically and mentally.

I had every medicine and led to pyronies disease.

Only thing that saved me was a three part penile implant not cheapest option and have to be realistic with end result. but makes physical contact possible without the lets take pills inject and wait to see if works, which kills it for both parties

Certainly worth considering Caverject injections for good erections. I use the French equivalent (EDEX 10mg) and am very happy with the results. Viagra and Cialis dod not work for me but using EDEX is like being a teenager again once you get head around it.
