Great result. Really not a good idea to use your email address as your public ID on here, though!

Andrew Smith                                                                             Hi Andrew good luck with your operation. I'm now on zero pads  do your pelvic floor exercises as this will help don't worry if it takes a while that's normal. You may get bruising if you have to inject into your tummy with anti coagulants but that soon goes away   Try to go for walks but don't over do it I found exercise helped   Let me know how you get on best of luck phil

Also Andrew, you will get quite intense shoulder pain so when they offer the paracetemol, take it even if the pain hasn't started and keep it up at the recommended intervals. It's entirely normal but no-one really tells you to expect it. Takes about 3 days to stop.

You will be expecting the worst of everything - it won't happen and is actually a lot easier than you are expecting.

If I had to do it all over again I would without a doubt.

Good luck!

Just to add, I had the op on May 12 and am also down to a single pad that stays dry all day and have 99% control. The ED will be with me permanently but the day I found out I could have a floppy willy orgasm was like all my birthdays coming at once :)

Hi Steve86

Am I correct in thinking that you have decided not to consider one of the several options for achieving an erection? After my surgery over 12 years ago our initial reaction was the same as yours but that meant giving up one of the most important aspect of our life. When the Viagra etc did not work for us and we did not wish me to have any further surgery for implants or injections we opted for a VED (available on the NHS) and have had great success at  re-establishing our intimate life; in many ways there have been unintended benefits to our approach. VEDs takes patience, determination and a sense of humour to get used to but the result is amazing. I have written about our intimate life after the surgery and you may like to look at this link:

Hi Pratap

I do have a VED but use it for health reasons rather than penetration. We enjoy ourselves with oral and some toys so neither of us miss penetration - we can still enjoy very deep intimacy. I suppose in that sense we have been very lucky - I know for some men and their partners, penetration is an important part of their sex lives - just for us, the orgasm, and keeping it going, is the fun part :)
