Urinary incontinence

Just a quick update. The nurse agreed to recommend cialis 5mg daily, which our gp has prescribed.

The continence has not improved yet, and he is still impatiently waiting for this to happen. Sometimes he says it's getting worse. I tell him this is because he is getting better, and doing more than he was. I hope, for his sanity, he at least sees s bit of an improvement soon. As he say, it wouldn't be so bad if thre was an improvement because at least he would know he was going in the right direction!

I find Cialis helps with the incontinence, even taking 2.5mg alternate days.  I found the following information on the NICE website in connection with it's use for benign prostatic hyperplasia:

Inhibition of PDE5 causes relaxation in the vascular supply of the prostate and bladder that increases blood perfusion to these areas, which may be the mechanism by which symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia are reduced. These vascular effects may be complemented by inhibition of bladder afferent nerve activity and smooth muscle relaxation of the prostate and bladder.

I did get back pain and muscle cramps initially but these disappeared with continued use.
