Hi,

Started chemo just as covid began but it got stopped and on arbitatrone. Starting to have pain in lower back hips and upper legs. Also more fatigued a lot. My job is working at home and i just sit in front of computer, speak on phone. Its really busy and i have no motivation to do anything physical and it gets worse. Last couple of days i have tried to move about, seems to improve but who knows. Got a PSA test next week followed by a call from the nurse. PSA was down to 0.1 last test 3 weeks ago. So who knows what its all about, will raise this then. Is anyone else having or had similar symptoms. Am concerned a spread to spine though. Thanks for reading, bit depressing but needed to let it out 🙃

Hi, you really must move around. I've worked from home for 20 years, including introducing home working at one company, and I know it's all to easy to sit working all day, or even more than all day when your home and work life isn't even separated by a train journey or whatever. Put some rules in place for yourself. Get up and make a decaf tea or coffee every hour. Make sure you always go out for lunch. I cycled to a cafe in the next town. OK, it's closed at the moment, but I still cycle there and back to break up the day and for exercise. Exercise is the main antidote to fatigue. A cordless headset can enable you to walk around while on the phone.

Fingers crossed that it is down to working from home and not the abiraterone, although aches & pains are a known side effect. Have you had a proper home working / DSE assessment?

Thanks for the replies

Did not read about aches etc when arbitatrone. My chair though is quite hard, meant to be on of those gaming chairs though... Ive foot rest back at the office, think ill get that, otherwise the assessment is fine enough.

I think getting off my a##e more will be helpful as will reducing the caffine amount. Ill Ill  to speak to nurse onaon Thursday back isnt getting better really. We shall see 😁

One thing is for sure and what I have learnt on here brother is that no one tablet or treatment affects all men the same. Whilst some will fly through chemo relatively unscathed, others will be deeply fatigued and made more ill. Likewise, Abbi and Enza both of which I have had. Enzalutamide used to hit me at around 3pm working or not (I was a sedentary home working writer) and I just felt heavy as bricks and had to sleep for two hours after which I was right as rain. Abbi was a waste of space as advised it would be by a brilliant UK specialist if Enza had failed, But in France, they allow patients to try both. My advice? Pace yourself, try to live and work normally as possible but do be kind to yourself and allow rest time. Time will out as my dear nana used to say.
