Hi All

I have joined the group to read the experience of others on  your journey going forward post Robotic assisted Laprosectomy mainly on the subject of ED.

However I am more than happy to share my experiences from diagnosis to surgery and beyond.

Regards.

Hi Springer,  I didn't have robotic but am sure it makes little difference to ED.   I was told they'd aim for sparing one nerve and it would never fully recover.  Afterwards I was told by another doctor it's a delicate procedure and they can never be sure if they spared the nerves.

It's not a great story, but I always thought, and still think, my ED is getting better and rejected offers of treatment. I tried Cialis but didn't like the aches so didn't try very long.   With hindsight, after being led to think it on here, it would be more progressed if I'd used a vacuum pump, but might be wrong.  After 2yrs it's temperamental, never spontaneous, sometimes doing nothing and others quite a lad, but never that great in hardness.   Although who knows if the pump would have made a difference.  I'm not massively concerned but would like to maximise my recovery and am thinking of buying a cheap pump someone on here pointed out.

If you read my profile I've a website with my post op info. All the best.

Hi

Thanks for your input I will check out your website, I have been using a pump since before my op I am not sure where my wife got it, probably Amazon, I use it daily in the shower as you fill it with water its quite effective its does not give you a full hard on but according to a prostate cancer uk nurse it will help keep the penis tissue healthy and help erections given time. It's still early days for me as I'm am coming up to 14 weeks post op. Like you I didn't get on with cialis.

I am currently waiting for an appointment with an andrology clinic which should give me other options.

Kind regards

There is a thread on this website called Erecting the erection - medication !!

Well worth a read and loads of input from many members including myself. Personally I think continued use of a pump for 3 1/2 yrs has been vital to my success. I’m on daily Cialis but virtually back to normal apart from losing some length. I took recovery into my own hands and pestered my hospital , urologist , GP etc , and even bought stuff off the internet after advice. To be fair it did take 2 yrs before things really picked up. Maybe try a proper pump which gets it fully engorged , either for exercise or for penetration when using the appropriate rings
