PSA rise 😳😳

Hi All

I hope you are all doing well. I’v not posted for a while as everything has been quiet this end although I check in regularly to keep up with how you are all doing.

OH was diagnosed in January 2017 with a GS of 9, Tb3. He has been off Prostap since January 2019 so HT free for 13 months now.   For the last 2.5 years since his treatment (chemo, RT, brachy & HT) ended in September 2017 his PSA has been 0.1.

However, we have just received today his latest 3-monthly PSA and it has risen to 0.2.

What do you all think, is this normal considering he still has his prostate (albeit obliterated by the treatment).

I’m just looking for some reassurance really that this mIght be normal at this stage and not necessarily a sign that his PCa is on the march again. What do you all think, should I be concerned?

It is fine Debbie - healthy prostate cells regenerate and produce small amounts of PSA. As long as your OH stays below 2.0 + nadir (in your case, 0.1) happy days.

Thanks Lynne. That’s very reassuring. I was trying not to over dramatise it but the anxiety gets to you sometimes xx
