Worrying

Hi everyone,

hope all is well, I am just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and if so what was the outcome.

i am 33 and already on meds for mental health issues, so this situation is doing my head, maybe because of that I am overthinking this.

i went to the doctors to get a pile lump checked (it was a pile) but while doing his Dre he said i have a very slight nodule on the prostate. I have had all my bloods back and all was good, PSA was 1.060 ( I found out ejaculation raises this slightly and I got lucky an hour before the blood test lol, so psa may actually be lower) but even so the dr has sent me to urology and for an mri. I have 0 symptoms other than a sore lower back but I play 5 a side a lot on some bad pitches so think this is why. The dr said “ slight nodule, Not psa1” whatever that means. So now after googling ( I know is bad) I’m over thinking

I understand no one here are doctors and can only speak of your own experience but I just wondered if anyone had a similar scenario. Thanks in advance

Getting prostate cancer in your early thirties is extremely rare. You doctor is being cautious and sent you for an MRI (which is the right thing to do if the DRE doesn't feel quite right).

I would console yourself that you have a GP who is actually doing his job right!

You are bound to be worried so don’t beat yourself up about it, but as Chris says at your age it is unlikely. Try and keep yourself busy and active whilst waiting on your tests and results, and be good to yourself. You might like to give the Specialist nurses on here a call…they are really good and will take time to listen to your concerns and answer any questions you have.

Good luck,

Derek

Oh to be 33 years old again! If I'd have got lucky an hour before my blood test, I'd have needed a kip to recover, and missed the appointment.😁

Thanks for the replies πŸ‘

I understand everything yous mentioned, just your brain goes into overdrive in these situations doesn’t it, have to wait a bit longer for the mri as the dr sent two referrals with slightly different info on it to the hospital lol, the dr said it’s unlikely to be sinister just better to get a second opinion to make sure, so fingers crossed 🀞
