I've had my prostatectomy done 7 weeks ago and I'm still getting pain in my urethra is this normal or does it take a long time for this to heal?

How do you know the pain is in your urethra rather than anywhere else? Do you mean you have stinging when you urinate?

It will take a long time to heal having been cut.

If stinging this is probably to be expected at this stage.

I have replied on the other thread that you have started. See your GP to check for infection.

When you want to reply to comments, just click on the green 'reply' or 'post reply' boxes rather than 'start a conversation'

I am no expert but this is very early days for you. You have had major surgery and things take time to heal.

Very best

Pain in the perineum is frequently mentioned on here and can take some time to completely disappear. Did you have a Urethral catheter and how long was it in for, were there any issues with it ?

Thanks Chris.
