After radiotherapy

Hi all

Not been on for a while, but had all my 37 radiotherapy sessions and 2 months later my psa has gone from 162 to 3 so I,m hoping that's good sign. Feeling fine now after a bad month or two.spoke to oncologist on Thursday and she said she now needs to check my testosterone, so another blood test.

Just a bit worried about my psa of 3 or will it keep dropping?

That’s excellent. Your PSA should keep gradually dropping, and will probably reach a nadir (low point) around 18 months after RT. In my own case, my PSA fell to 4.6 two months after RT, 2.0 six months later, and 1.4 (its minimum) six months after that, so your PSA of 3 is better than mine was at a similar time post-RT 🙂. My oncologist said at the start that he’d regard a nadir of anything under 2 to be a success, so I’m happy!

I think you have every reason to be optimistic, and not worried.

Best wishes,

Chris
