Sorry you are here. Read this thread for a list of questions to ask.

A PSA of 15 plus the DRE suggests cancer is likely. A PSA of 15 suggests if it is cancer it is still in the early stages.

Sorry you find yourselves here.

Yes, it could definitely be cancer, but don't take it as a foregone conclusion.  I was told at my biopsy that I definitely had cancer and this test would show what type. The result came back negative. I wasn't relieved,  because of what the consultant said about me definitely having cancer. As it says here, they cant tell you that you dont have it, just that they didn't find it.

If it is a posituve diagnosis, a list of questions is an idea, but not essential. The best suggestion is to ask if you can record the consultation,  or even insist you record it. There will be so much information and medical speak flying round you won't take a third of it in. And your head will not be in a good place to remember to ask those questions trust me.

I went with my brother and his wife to act as a scribe,  to jot down as much as possible for future reference.

Just try not to worry too much before the appointment and that will give you the best start to your day.

Take care, mick xx
