Hi Simon
Yes it's a worrying time waiting for appointments. I have the same worries having had a biopsy on 5th June, results on 24th June (T3a, Gleason 4+3). I've expressed my wish for RARP, but spoke to the urology nurse a week or so ago and they haven't had the SMDT meeting to discuss my case yet.
All the recent publicity about prostate cancer on various media, especially BBC Breakfast, and celebs like Sir Chris Hoy, is great, as many more guys, including myself, have badgered their GPs for PSA blood test. However, I do think it may be causing a bottle neck at hospitals now. My biopsy, normally done by the urology dept., was done at the Day Surgery Unit because urology was so busy. I reckon there must also be a knock-on effect for surgery.
I'm assured that I shouldn't worry about timescales, so I'm trying not too!
