I was going to start this on the old forums ... but thought it might be better here http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif

With most of us changing our diets i thought we can help each other with meals ect ?

Well tell you the truth ... i am sick of eating just fish and chicken as part of my main meal .

Tonight my OH made a nice leek and potato soup with pasta shells in it , so what did you have for tea ?

Cheers from your friendly Scouser http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif

Salmon (farmed Scottish) with Jersey Royals and broccoli. Chicken stir fry yesterday. Maybe pasta with tomato sauce tomorrow. Lived dangerously one evening last week when we had shoulder of lamb cooked Moroccan style. http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif

All the best, Viv

Today my evening meal was chips and Birds Eye crispy chicken.

Probably not the most healthiest food but it tasted nice. My wife and I do try of course to eat healthy food most of the time.

By the way I am also a Liverpool fan and always have been. I am beginning to lose hope for the championship this year but there is still a chance.

Best wishes

I'm not sure most have changed their diets. Some do, some don't.

I've had rice , fish and tomatoes. Yesterday I had a lovely rump steak :). I believe everything in moderation

Hi folks, not long joint the site so still trying to get around it.

Last night was lamb meatball with tomato sauce and pasta.

Tonight is pasta in a cheese sauce.

Do I have to or will I be recommended to change my diet?

Rivertweed - We will find out tonight when Villa play City ... fingers crossed .

Havieboy - as Bri said the name of the game is about eating in moderation , i've cut down on red meats and diary stuff .

This is why i started the thread to see how the other people eat and get some tips http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif

Dave-M

I was told on 10th April that I had PCa then had  my MRI scan on the 25th April.

Going to see the Specialist about surgery and then the nurse about how to change my diet and exercise on 15th May.

Everything seems to be going quick enought.

Joined this site for the same reason as you, getting tips, as I refuse to go see Doctor Google.

I have started having almond milk instead of semi skimmed tho this is to lower cholesterol it should also cut calories. Also drop cheese and yoghourt. Perhaps I should go on a cruise - the choice is so good. Marks and Spencers do a moreish 4 bean salad and nutty quinoa salad. Good for those who need more veg or fibre in a diet.

I have decided to follow the Plant Programme by Jane Plant and Gill Tidey. Will be starting dinner this evening with a lovely sweet potato and coconut soup followed with a main meal of roast vegetables and a fruit salad for sweet. Staying off all dairy and meat as they have testosterone, oestrogen and other growth hormones which I don't want or need. If I'm feeling wicked then I may have a breast of chicken (free range) perhaps once every couple of weeks.

If you've not heard of Jane Plant then Google her. Her recipe book is superb, easy to follow and nice quick and easy meals which will help you fight the cancer.

Cheers

I can recommend 'The Prostate Care Cookbook' by Professor Margaret Rayman, Kay Dilley and Kay Gibbons'. It is less restrictive than some other diets. For the omnivores among us it doesn't exclude all dairy products, saturated fat or red and processed meat. It just suggests that they should be consumed in limited amounts.

Tonight the Boys have had Linguini pasta with a small shrimp and brown potted shrimp cooked in a garlic , chilli and shallot sauce with added lemon juice and fresh coriander. They loved it..

Of course I couldn't eat it, that would give me heart burn. So I have had twice cooked chips, with sea salt of course.http://community.prostatecanceruk.org/editors/tiny_mce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-innocent.gif

Hi All.

Well what can I say, I'm probably the most reckless person when it comes to eating healthy under the circumstances of having Prostate Cancer, I know we're supposed to cut down on red meat and dairy but I do love both and therefore indulge in all that I should avoid.

Meat is in my diet most days as is dairy products also like a tipple or two, curry also plays a big part in my life, basically all what I shouldn't have I do, now I know it may seem irresponsible but I believe in living for today as we don't know what tomorrow might bring, my specialist nurse once told me that he guarantees I shall die with Prostate Cancer but maybe not from it as I could be knocked down by a bus tomorrow, strange comparison I thought, however very true when you think about it so therefor living for today and enjoying life's little pleasures is my way of thinking.
